As an orthopaedic consultant, Mr Crompton has experience with preparing clinical negligence and medical reports for a wide range of medico-legal cases. He can write medico-legal reports for all children’s and adult orthopaedic trauma. He can also produce expert witness or negligence reports for children’s orthopaedics, whether elective or trauma.
Medico-legal orthopaedic consultant
Mr Crompton completed his orthopaedic training at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals before undertaking specialist children’s orthopaedic fellowships at Barts Health in London and Westmead Children’s Hospital in Sydney. He took up a consultant post at The Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital Brighton on August 2016, and also works in the Brighton major trauma centre. Furthermore, he is a consultant at the Portland Hospital in London and a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons.
Mr Crompton’s specialities include:
- Children’s trauma and fractures: Mr Crompton runs the children’s trauma service in Brighton, which is one of the busiest children’s trauma units in the UK.
- Opinions on all children’s trauma including negligence work.
- Childhood hip conditions: Including DDH, SUFE and Perthes disease.
An experienced practitioner
One area of current focus for Mr Crompton is focusing on training the next generation of children’s orthopaedic surgeons. He is an educational supervisor for KSS registrars and sits on the surgical training committee for Kent, Surrey and Sussex training rotation. Furthermore, he teaches two preparation courses for FRCS in London and is an Advanced Trauma Life Support instructor.
Within his recent NHS work, he runs the children’s trauma service in Brighton and has recently set up the children’s virtual fracture clinic service. This has expanded and improved the service available for children and their families.
